The Impact 2001 is a manually operated Compressed Earth Block machine. The Impact 2001A is the automated model. The Impact 2001 machines are very light and can be hauled behind a farm tractor, compact car or compact pickup equipped with a ball hitch. Other hitches are available at time of manufacture. The machine can also be moved by hand around the site. The 2001 series are designed for the homeowner or small contractor and can be loaded with shovels or buckets. AECT provides a limited workmanship and craftsmanship warranty and warranties are also issued by the specific machine component suppliers. A 5 foot removable gravity roller conveyer and stand are included for convenience in block handling.

Impact 2001 Machine Characteristics:

Weight: 1350 lbs.(manual 2001) 1640 pounds (2001A)

Dimensions: 81 inches (206 cm) long by 56 inches (142.2 cm) wide by 51 inches (130 cm) high. Road Clearance-approximately 6 inches (15 cm).

Engine: 7.0 H.P. Yanmar diesel engine (recommended for overseas use) or
              6.5 H.P. Honda gasoline engine

Hydraulics World Wide Hydraulics, 19.5 gal tank capacity. Beta rated high quality filtration

Hydraulic Thrust: 72,000 lbs. (1,091 p.s.i. on 5.5 in. x 12 in. x 2.0-4.5 in. block)

Hopper Capacity 7.0 blocks

Nominal Block Production: Approximately 230-240 blocks per hour for the manually operated machine(1840-1920 blocks per 8 hour day).
Approximately 300 blocks per hour or 2400 per day for the automated model 2001.

No Block Curing Required: Blocks ejected by the machine are immediately ready to place in the wall or to stack on pallets for temporary storage.

Trailer Characteristics: Can be towed at 60 mph by 2 in. ball hitch by compact car or truck. Can be moved easily by hand on site.

Brake lights and Turn signal Lights: An Optional Magnetic Removable brake lights and turn signals setup for connecting towing vehicle to machine is available.

Block Dimensions, Weight and Slurry Bonding: Typically, the blocks are 5.5 inches (14 cm) wide by 12 inches (30.5 cm) long by 2.0 to 4.5 inches (5.0 cm to 11.5 cm) thick. Each block weights between 9-18 pounds (4.1 Kg to 8.1 Kg) depending on the soil and block thickness. Blocks are bonded together using the wet thin soil slurry or other conventional methods. The soil slurry is made with only water and screened soil. Blocks can also be placed in the wall using the traditional thick mud mortar method.

Patented in USA:  Patent No. 5,629,033

Soils Required for the Impact 2001 Machine to make good strong block: The Impact 2001 uses a wide variety of soils with prepared natural soil moistures in the range of 4-12 percent. Typically, the machine requires soil with a combined clay (15-20 percent) and silt (powder) content of approximately 25-40 percent (by volume) and a sharp sand content of approximately 40-70 percent (by volume). The machine does not require any aggregate (rocks) to make a strong soil block for most applications. The block compressive strengths range from 600 p.s.i. (42 Kg/cm2) to 1,200 p.s.i. (70 Kg/cm2) depending on the soil. This machine operates at less pressure placed on the block during block production and thus this machine can work across a wetter soil range than the large AECT machine.

The IMPACT 2001 is manufactured by AECT at the AECT factory in San Antonio, Texas under an exclusive, worldwide, manufacturing and marketing licensing agreement with the Patent holder. Specifications for the Impact 2001 are subject to change without notice at the sole discretion of AECT. AECT provides training for in machine operation, maintenance and repair, soil selection and soil preparation/testing. AECT provides demonstrations involving block production, laying/protecting of blocks, use of the small block testing press and construction.
