First awarded in 2001-2002, the Godfrey Award recognizes a public library for outstanding library programming for children and families.  It is awarded by the Center for Consulting and Planning at Texas Woman's University and PROVIDENCE Associates, Inc., Library Consultants Planners.  The award includes a sculpture suitable for public display and a $2,500 monetary award.
