Welcome!  These set of webpages you see to your left will eventually include web and print resources from a variety of sources, including but not limited to:
Multicultural Lit:  LS 5903, offered through the School of Library and Information Studies at Texas Woman's University, this set of pages focuses on books in six different culture areas:  International, African-American, Asian-American, Latino(a)-American, Native American, and Other Cultures.
Laurence Yep:  These pages focuses attention on the award winning children's and young adult writer.  Mr. Yep is the author of Cockroach Cooties, a Texas Bluebonnet Book 2002-2003 nominee.
Yoshiko Uchida:  Author of over 30 children's books, Yoshiko Uchida is possibly best known for her autobiographies The Invisible Thread (for younger readers) and Desert Exile (for adult readers), both detailing her family's experience in the Japanese Internment Camps during World War II.
Resources:  This set of pages provides professional resources for librarians, and teachers focusing on children's and young adult services, and parents.  Currently there are pages detailing print materials for a variety of ages; upcoming pages will offer contact information for local, state, national, and international organizations focused on children's and young adult services, as well as a webography (website bibliography) of useful sites for librarians, teachers, and parents.
Russell Freedman:  Author of over 40 nonfiction books for children, a Newbery winner and Orbis Pictus Award for Nonfiction Children's Literature, he created the "photobiography" form of nonfiction literature.
