| Susan Kuhs Wierzbicki, once upon a
time a reporter and editor at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, completed her
Ph.D. in sociology at the University of Washington in 2001 and is
currently an assistant professor of sociology at the University of
California, Irvine. Helene Elizabeth Wierzbicki was born May 12, 1993. She is an energetic third-grader who attends Turtle Rock Elementary School in Irvine, CA, and she can carry a tune much better than her mother can. Like her Dad, she is seriously interested in -- among other things -- monster movies from the 1930s and the 1950s. Helene collaborated with her father on a paper titled "Deconstructing Disney: Gender Issues in the Songs from the Animated Films," delivered at the University of Colorado in July of 2001. When she was a second-grader at Bush School in Seattle, Helene wrote a book titled The Adventure to the Cave of Fear. Eva Marie Wierzbicki entered the family on April 24, 1998. It's still too early to tell about her propensities, but things are looking good. Anna Willow (Wierzbicki), James Wierzbicki's oldest daughter, finished two years of study at the San Francisco Art Institute and then earned a double degree in anthropology and environmental science at the University of Wisconsin. She completed her master's degree in environmental anthropology at the University of Michigan and is currently working on a Ph.D. in anthropology at the University of Wisconsin. As befits the translation from the Polish, several years ago she changed her surname to Willow. |
