"Letting Down"

In 1995 James Wierzbicki issued his first recording, a compact disc featuring original compositions for flute and synthesizers. As described in the liner notes, "LETTING DOWN: Music for New Mothers" is an example of "useful" music designed primarily to facilitate the lactation process of nursing mothers. Nevertheless, listeners who aren't breastfeeding have found it conducive to other situations as well: back rubs and romantic cuddling, for example, or just plain relaxing. Intimate, gentle and introspective, all nine pieces feature the exquisite playing of flutist Betsy Feldman.
