This is a picture of me and my wife, Kalia Kliban. We live in Sebastopol, California with our two cats, Eliza and Sam. I'm a lawyer. I graduated from Hastings College of the Law in 1999, and I have a private practice specializing in criminal appeals. Kalia is a woodworker; she worked for a long time for a shop in Petaluma called Design in Wood, which makes very classy high-end furniture and built-in cabinets.

I play fiddle and melodeon in a Celtic band called Greenhouse.  I used to play for the Berkeley Morris, and these days I play for Apple Tree Morris in Sebastopol. I also play periodically at dances put on by the Bay Area Country Dance Society (BACDS) and the North Bay Country Dance Society. A long time ago, I used to play in a band called Tempest.

Yes, I'm related to Jean Berger, the choral composer. He's my father. I'm sad to report that he passed away on May 28, 2002. If you're looking for copies of his choral music, you might try Musical Resources, Augsburg Fortress, or Neil Kjos Publishing.
