Who Am I?

I consider myself a life-long artist who has not, until now, seriously approached art as a sole career, opting instead for the security of a career in the commercial printing industry. As a result, you won't find a resumé containing lists of competitions, exhibitions, and critical review. I hope that the images and information presented within this site makes up for this lack

Work Experience

My 25 years in printing have all been in prepress. I began as a stripper and cameraman, working at the photomechanical recreation of artwork. Fifteen years ago, I became involved in color separation, setting up the color department of one of Austin's major printing companies. I learned the art of scanning in the early, pre-digital days, and helped set up and program a computer controlled camera for compositing color originals. Seven years ago, I was in on the establishment of a complete digital prepress department for the same company, becoming familiar with all the popular page layout and graphics software. Before commencing my latest artistic retreat, I served for a year as manager of the digital prepress department.

What Can I Do for You?

My ultimate goal is to become involved in projects and to create works that challenge me, and to find enough of a market for them to make the process self-sustaining. At the present time, I'm most involved with the creation of my paramoiric displays, which are now available in limited editions. I would like to explore the process further, perhaps creating much larger pieces that could be integrated into architectural or landscape designs. The surface prints and lensless photography are continuing areas of exploration, and depending upon the progress I make, I may offer limited editions of these works as well.
In the mean time, to support myself, I would not shun (and on occasion would probably welcome) the opportunity to make use of the job skills I've learned over the years: page layout, graphic design, photography, scanning, image manipulation, and, most recently, web page design. For more information, or to see my works first hand (especially the floating images, which have to be experienced directly), please contact me.
