In the same way, the correct scriptural response to the question: "Who is William Marrion Branham?" is: "The prophet that God promised that would come with the spirit and power of Elijah to turn the hearts of the children to the fathers in our days."
We will see that this prophet does this job to turn the hearts of the children to the fathers, with a God given ministry of restoration, according to Jesus Christ, and also of revelation in which all the mysteries are revealed. Note, my brother or sister, for the first one we say "from the fathers to the children"; and for the second one we say: "from the children to the fathers."
We will explain further ; but first let me remind you that John the Baptist was rejected by the religious people of that time; even though, Jesus Christ speaking of John the Baptist said: "among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist..." Matthew (11:11). It's a tremendous thing what happened, for all those that rejected John also rejected Jesus Christ... we must have a lot of caution so that we do not do the same thing. He who rejects the messenger also rejects the message. In Malachi 4:(5-6), the Word of the lord says:
"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.(6)He shall turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse."
Let the Lord Jesus Christ help us. In Matthew (11-14), Jesus Christ speaking of John the Baptist said: "And if you want to receive him, he is that Elijah that was to come." In St. John (1-21) The priests and Levites asked John: "And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elijah? And he saith, I am not". Apparently there is a contradiction; but God does not contradict himself, and neither does his Word. If we read in Luke (1-17) we see that the angel that was speaking to Zechariah about John said: "And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord." We can understand that John the Baptist was not the person Elijah from the Old Testament, but he was a prophet that had the spirit and the power of Elijah. Our precious savior knew what he was saying when He said: "...he is that Elijah that had to come". Speaking of the spirit and the power that was in that person Elijah of the Old Testament. In the same way, John the Baptist knew what he was saying, when they asked him: "Are you Elijah?" he said: "I am not". For he was not the person Elijah of the Old Testament. Glory to God! This is wonderful.
If it is necessary read all this portion again before continuing.
Let's read Malachi 4(5-6) again. "Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:(6) And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse." Now we can understand that God is not speaking of sending the person Elijah of the Old Testament, but the spirit and the power that was in Elijah in the Old Testament...God reveal this to you...We read that there are two missions for Elijah: (1) Turn the hearts of the fathers to the children. (2)Turn the hearts of the children to the fathers. Let's read Luke 1-17 again: "And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord." Wonderful! The scriptures tell us that the first mission was accomplished with John the Baptist; for, he is the one who turned the hearts of the fathers to the children. This is from law to Grace. From the Old Testament to the New Testament. The Bible does not tell us anywhere that John the Baptist turned the hearts of the children to the fathers. For, this job was not for Elijah (John the Baptist). Keep this in your heart and let's see in the scriptures whom this mission was intended for. Let's read Matthew 17 (10-13):
"And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elijah must first come? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elijah truly shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, That Elijah is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist."
Notice carefully that Jesus Christ speaks of two different and separated events. One of these is for the future, "Elijah truly shall first come, and restore all things." The other event, of the past, "Elijah is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed."...No.. No there was not two Elijah's but two different prophets that had the same (one) spirit of Elijah which was the spirit of Christ. Therefore, the disciples understood well, because John the Baptist was Elijah that was to come during this period and they did not know him, but they did with him all they wanted. The job that is still left to turn the hearts of the children to the fathers, which is from the perverted and deceived condition of today, to the original Word taught to us through the apostles, it is for our days, for the time that we live in. In Revelations 10-7, we read:
"But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets".
This seventh angel is the last messenger that God sent to the Gentiles. It says, that the mystery of God will be finished and we know that a finished mystery is something that has been revealed. In the Old Testament we read in the book of Amos 3-7: "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." It is not hard to believe that God always reveals his mysteries to the prophets. For in the scriptures we understand that the Word of the Lord comes first to the prophets, and then to the people. As a consequence, if God is going to reveal his mysteries in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, then this angel has to be a prophet. And he truly was a prophet and the Lord revealed through him all the mysteries according to the will of the Lord. God certainly vindicated William Marrion Branham to be that seventh angel, to be that last messenger, to be the Elijah of today for the Gentiles. There were millions and millions that saw the glory of God be manifested through this prophet. For the first time in my life, I, Javier Moncada, entered in contact with a teaching that had no contradictions. The more I read searching for a scriptural contradiction, the more I found out that the teaching was not just of man, but it had to come directly from God. Not only the doctrine is perfect, but the Lord Jesus performed marvelous works of power, teaching us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13-8
