Free Perusal Copies:
Theatres, producing organizations, and their representatives may request perusal copies of my plays free of charge. "Representatives" are not only artistic directors or those in the literary department. If you're a director, actor, or committee member who frequently works with a company and recommends scripts for production, I will be happy to send you a perusal script free of charge. A student may request a free perusal copy of any play and I'll send it via e-mail free, under the special conditions below:

To request a perusal script, please fill in the form below, and perusal script(s) will be forwarded to the address you authorize -- email or post. Email, text, or PDF attachments will get to you fastest -- however, please complete all requested information so I have a real-world way of identifying and contacting you. 

Please note that Romeo and Juliet at Verona High and The Temple of Dionysus are published by Playscripts, Inc. Copies of the script and performance royalty information can be found at their website.

Note: Receipt of script(s) does NOT automatically convey rights to perform, produce, or otherwise present any of the works under copyright. To inquire about possible production or performance, please contact the author.

Royalty Rates:
Production royalties are generally on a per-performance basis, and vary based on ticket price, size of theatre, and professional/amateur status.

Royalties for most shows are negotiable with the author. Click here to request a quote.

There are special student royalty rates for competitions & forensics. Short works may be used -- with permission -- in student competitions for a one-time payment of $5 (US) per student, to cover its use within the competition year. See student information below.

Special considerations for students:
A student may request a copy of one play and I'll send it via e-mail free, under the special conditions below:

Conditions:
You must e-mail me with some basic identifying info: name, grade, school, location.
You indicate whether your request is for:
- forensic competitions: these require application to the author and payment of a special competition royalty rate.
- auditions or in-class exercises: these uses do not require separate application for a performance license
- student productions or workshops: These must be negotiated like any other production. They require application to the author with details and payment of a modest production royalty.

ONE free copy per student only. You can still get them via e-text if you want a fast turnaround.
