Thyroid Problems

Hyper-thyroid

Which means the thyroid gland located at the base front of your throat pumps out too much thyroid hormones, called T3 and T4.  Having a mouthfull of amalgams since the age of 14 and 15, this caused cysts and hyper-thyroid conditions and extreme arthritis in me by the age of 16.  I had to have a large cyst removed from the right side of the thyroid gland at the age of 26.  Then more problems developed as the dentist had to replace more and more amalgams in my mouth, causing terrible arthritis  to increase until I couldn't walk, and pain galore.  ( It is no wonder I loathe the ADA! )

Then by the time I was age 50, the doctor  which was a specialist in thyroid conditions, prescribed drugs to reduce my thyroid, and planned to have the I-131 treatment to destroy the rest of my thyroid gland.  I balked.  The medication caused me to gain 30 pounds in a few weeks, which in turn caused my blood pressure to spike.  She ordered heavy duty blood pressure medications for me, which in turn caused multiple drug reactions, including fainting.  Needless to say, the "thyroid specialist" refuses to see me anymore.

Believe me, I have been through this and more with doctors trying to get rid of the thyroid just because a dentist poisoned me with mercury amalgams when I was 15, and continued to do so throughout the years.  This would have insured I would have to be on prescription drugs the rest of my life.

Since then, I have been systematically getting rid of the amalgams, with only three left to go.  My arthritis disappeared.  My thyroid is under control with diet alone.    My immune system is a lot better.

How to lower your hyper-thyroid with diet:

  1. Soy products will block the iodine from your thyroid, and lower hyper-thyroid conditions.  Know the symptoms of hypo-thyroid so you don't over do it, and gain too much weight!
  2. Cabbage will lower hyper-thyroid by doing the same blocking of the iodine to your thyroid gland.  Raw cabbage is especially good, as in cole slaw dishes.

Avoid foods that have iodine in them for a while.  You can introduce these back into your diet when you have sufficiently reduced your thryoid hormone productions to normal levels.  These foods are:

  1. Milk
  2. Meat
  3. Seafood
  4. Iodized salt

But I have discovered that I could have one or two glasses of milk of day while on the soymilk, and it still controlled my thyroid problems.  Just be careful, but you can experiment around and see what it does.  Just pay attention to the hyper-thyroid and hypo-thyroid symptoms.  I made sure all of the salt in my kitchen and dining areas are the regular salt without iodine added.

Some of the symptoms I look for with hyper-thyroid:

  1. Unable to sleep
  2. Nervousness
  3. Dry skin

Some of the symptoms I look for with hypo-thryoid:

  1. Feeling cold all of the time.
  2. Lethargic
  3. Depressed

Dealing with hypo-thyroid problems would be just the opposite.  Be sure to have plenty  of seafood, meat and milk in your diet.  Use iodized salt in your cooking. Avoid cabbage and soy dishes.   Again, watch your symptoms, and be sure that you don't over do it, either way.

By getting the mercury amalgams out of my mouth, my thryoid problems have decreased.  Since there are three amalgams left, hopefully the rest of the removal process will take away the thyroid problems altogether, among other health problems.
