Will of John Box, 22 Nov. 1815 Proven 5 Feb 1821

In the name of God, amen. I John Box being of sound mind and disposing memory but weak in body and calling to mind the uncertainty of life, and being desirous to dispose of all such worldly effects as it has pleased God to ___ me with to make and ordain this my last will in Manner following that is to say:
I desire all my just debts and funeral expenses to be paid. After payment of my just debts and funeral expenses I give to my wife Rachel Box all my estate both real and personal during the term of hew natural life and after her decease I give the tract of land whereon I now live to my two granddaughters, Rachel Box and Louisa Box daughters of Jemima Box in perpetuity it being one hundred acres binding on Lands belonging to Samuel Nabors, Jane Moore and Reedy River and I also, do hereby give or allow my daughter Jemema Snied the privilege of living on part o f the said hundred acres of Land during the natural term of her lifetime.

I also father give to my daughter Jemema Snied after the death of my wife all my stock and every kind also my farming tools and household and kitchen furniture.
After the decease of my wife, I leave a negroe named Charity to be sold on credit of twelve months and the money arising from the sale to be divided in the following manner. I give fifty dollars to my grandson Elisha Williamson, and I give to my son Shadrack Box or his heirs five dollars and I give to my son Robert Box or his heirs five dollars and the balance of the money arising from the sale of said Negroe girl Charity, I give to be equally divided between my son Abraham Box, Benjamin Box, Molly South, Rachel Banks and Jemima Sneed to them their heirs and assigns forever.
And Lastly I do appoint and nominate my friend Elisha Williamson Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other and former wills and testaments by me heretofore made; In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty second day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred fifteen .
