Researching Family Heritage
I am researching family history for my oldest children.
I'm hoping to find information on their Great Grandmother (father's father's mother).
Her maiden name was Lily May Leamon. She married William Denman Shoultz. Her son, my boy's biological grandfather, was Denman Glenn Shoultz, born 7-2-44. She died 12-Feb-1988.
The story we have is that she was Native American, but when she was very small she was put into the adoption system and given a new name. There do not appear to be any records of her birth name, or what Native American culture she came from.
I hope to reclaim more of this bit of American history for my children.
