Here is my install of a Cobra model 18WX ST II into the dash. Don't have much to say other than it works. The antenna is mounted on the driver's fender using a bracket attached to a fender bolt. The radio has a front mounted speaker, PA, Weather, incoming strength and outgoing power/SWR, noise reduction circuitry, scan mode, and dual channel watch. It's a tight fit. I had to use an antenna connector that allowed the coax to come out at 90 degrees. Basically I just bent the ground on a straight solderless connector sideways.
Here is my antenna mount. I just bent some metal, drilled a few holes and bolted to one of
the fender bolts.
