In the beginning...
Here's how things looked on day 1. A long way from the finish line. The bus is a 1979 MCI 9 with a Detroit Diesel 6v92TA (turbo charged) engine.

Our floor plan. Doesn't render too well as a GIF, unfortunately. The front of the bus is at the left, behind the drivers seat is a sofa, then a kitchen counter. On the passenger side are two captains chairs near the front. Behind them, opposite the forward end of the kitchen counter, is the dinette. The dinette has a bench for two, and a drop leaf. The 2nd captains chair swivels around to meet the table (when the drop leaf is up). A fourth seat can be added with a folding chair in the aisle. Opposite the kitchen counter is the fridge (full size house fridge). Further back on the passenger side is the pantry, washer/dryer closet, and kids' clothes closet. Opposite the pantry and closets is the kids' bunks. Next towards the rear is the bathroom (sink and toilet) on the passenger side, and shower on the driver's side. Finally, the MBR with queen size bed and large closet to the rear.
