Blill Gates conciders Blogging
Instapundit notes that Bill Gates might start his own blog. Microsoft has been talking about getting into the the blogging bussiness, as an attempt to take on Googles own Blogger.com. It my guess that Bill will be Beta testing the system. Microsoft has some pretty tough competion, and they won't win many bloggers if they take the attitude of creating their own standards. Perhaps they will follow Google's example and use cheap, but high powered Linux powered computers. One of the reasons Microsoft has deceloped the interest is hinted at by Brier Dudley
Now 44 percent of U.S. Internet users contributed content to the Web, and 2 percent maintain their own blogs, according to a February study by the Pew Internet & American Life research project. With about 128 million adult Internet users in the country, that would mean there are more than 2.5 million blogs.
2 percent is a lot of people with yet a huge potential for growth. Blogging is one of the easiest ways. to publish web content. Google is finding that Bloggers are loyal to Google branding have been some of their stauncheest defenders in the Gmail contoversy, and have given them lots of publicity. Microsoft certainly could use some of that enthusiasm for their branded products.
