City governments are continuing to take local taxpayer money and send it overseas into a different economy where no tax benefits are recovered. Ironies always abound. For example, Tempe, Chandler, and Peoria, Arizona have all chosen to outsource core IT functions to India. According to the press release issued by Mumbai/Bangalore-based Tata Infotech, Tempe will send $1.5 million of taxpayer money to India for tax-collecting software! Is this a hoot or what? Tata will also handle the maintenance of these systems, a job that was previously done by Arizonans.
Taking jobs away from the local economy doesn't make any more sense for municipalitys than it does for the Federal Govt.

Do you mean Chinese and Indians are fools because they are outsourcing books and movies?
Or your point is that India pay American is morally right and American pay India is evil?

Local Goverments should support local bussinesses, when they can. The taxpayers should be be given the first shot at these jobs. Goverments in India should give priority when giving out contracts to the folks that are actually paying the taxes.
We shouldn't do any bussiness with China. They are imperialist that abuse their own people. We do not need to be doing bussiness with one communist goverment and maintain an embargo with Cuba.
