The KK6AC 443.000 + PL 141.3 repeater is located 30 miles NE of Bakersfield at an altitude of 7200 feet. The radio is a Motorola Mitrek with an RLC-1 Plus controller. Keep in mind the machine has a preamp. If you can hear it, it can hear you, if you have a good antenna and are running 35 watts out.
Coverage is from Frazier Park (Grapevine) on I-5 to Chowchilla on Hwy 99 and up I-5 to about 12 miles S of 152. Ocasionally it has been worked past there up to the I-5 & 580 turn off (Bay area turn off). It also serves the Lake Isabella area. This repeater is linked to the KG6KKV tri-band Repeater in Bakersfield, Ca. This way the KK6AC repeater is linked into the ARRG System and can be used to communicate all the way from Sacramento, Ca. to Frazier Park & Palmdale,Ca. (See assocated coverage maps)
