Djembe Kaan

 

Tama and Balafon. Two instruments used by the Griot people(West Africa). Those two instruments are mostly known as a Talking drum (Tama) and a Xylophone (Balafon).


About     DJEMBE   KAAN,
a seven players group performing since March 2002.
We are all coming from different cultures.
We mostly play traditional African polyrhythmics,
with 3  "bass-drums"( Dunumba, Kenkeni, Sangban )
and 3 Djembes.
We also perform some other African instruments :
Tama, Balafon, Shekere, Krin, Bougarabou .....
Nowadays, we are working on some new African canto and rhythms...
