Did you know that anyone can know what God looks like? Well, anyone can! Because He's kind of like us. The bible says that we were made in His image (Gen. 1:26-27). So if you want to know what God looks like, look at the people around you. And treat them like you would God. If you want to know who God is, a good place to start is in the beginning. God made us in His image and called us "good" with the rest of the creation.
We were made, by God, to be close to Him. Even after Adam and Eve betrayed His trust, brought a curse on all creation (death) and had to leave the garden, He still took care of them (Gen. 3:21). And from the very first sin, God had a plan (Gen. 3:15). Then the whole rest of the bible tells the story of how God took care of the seed of Eve until Jesus finally came and defeated Satan. What does that mean for us and our sin? It means that God still loves us no matter what we do. It means that when we are saved we can be close to God forever, the way He made us to be in the beginning. That's why we praise Him, because he took away our sin, He sent Jesus to bridge the gap.
