Today we had our first sessions of SOAR, and it went very well! At the beginning of the day we got up and moved from Days Inn to the hotel in which SOAR is being held, the Grand Hyatt. Once we got there we moved our luggage in and went to a play area called the village and helped 1300 underprivileged children play games, and gave them some gifts that the church collected at VBS. After we finished helping the children we went to the mall across from the hotel and split up and ate lunch, and just hung out at the mall for a little while. After we were done at the mall we went back to the hotel and had our first session of SOAR. When we were done with our first session we went to the Rainforest Cafe and ate dinner. We also had a special dessert and presentation for Brad, Caitlyn, and Morgan for their birthday. Then after we ate dinner we went back to our hotel and had our second session of SOAR. Afterwards there were many activities to be done, so we all split up and participated in different activities. When everyone was back in their rooms, members of Selah went back down to the SOAR room and practiced for tomorrows performance. And then we came back up to our rooms and I typed a summary of our day. So day 2 went pretty well!!
