Moody Methodist Shepherding Team Update 02/09/06

Thanks to all of you for volunteering for the Shepherding program and rewarding Jack Hayes for his patience and faith. As discussed I have updated some of the reference documents to be used for the shepherding process. Attached are copies of what I have at this time. The Membership Packets are being updated and will have to be picked up at the church office when ready. Lisa Beth is working on updating the church Contact List and I will distribute that document when its ready.

I know not all of the volunteers have e-mail and internet access. I will need to ask Lisa Beth and Cindy's assistance in seeing that the "non virtual" members of the team are able to get hard copies provided to them.

For those of us who have internet access, I have to confess that I'm hooked on the efficiency of electronic communication. All working groups need an information resource center. I also feel a need to provide one because my communication time is limited. So with that in mind, I want to roll out our shepherding team web page. You can access it at:

http://pages.sbcglobal.net/rkskaggs/MoodyMethodist/Shepherds/home.html

You might want to bookmark this link in your browser because the address is not exactly easy to remember.

I will use this sie as our ongoing source of current information about our activities and an area to download the most current copies of reference documents. The content of the web page also provides an overview of the shepherding program in case any of the other church members want to know more about it, and hopefully join the group. Perhaps as some point a link to this site can be placed on the church web site.

Please note the link to the Current Rotation Schedule in the upper right corner of the page. I will keep this chart updated with assignments as new members flow into the shepherding process. I will start the assignments with Jack and Karen Hayes and move down the list as new members are referred to us over time. I will also fill out the chart horizontally to track the history of our coverage and make sure individual shepherds are not being overworked.

You will notice our personal information is sparse on the site and I am using an alternate e-mail address: moodyshepherds@sbcglobal.net That is for privacy purposes and spam protection (since this page is out there on the open internet). For any e-mail communications related to the Shepherding Program, please use this dedicated e-mail address to communicate with me. This will also help me keep these important messages clearly separated from the flotsam and jetsam I get in my regular e-mail.

Thanks again and let me know if you have any questions. If you need to talk with me directly, my home phone is 740-2601 (evenings and weekends).
