Lessons for Easter
Isaiah 65:17-25
O Lord, through Christ you have
Created a new heaven and earth.
Restoring our youth and
changing the nature of reality,
turning time inside out
where our many endings become new beginnings.
You hear us before we speak,
And answer before we call,
sorrow and weeping disappears
across the land, even creatures
of the
wild bow to this new creation.
The former things which once were
Pass away in the night, as Easter dawns.
May we too die to sin and give birth to thy
compassion.
1 Corinthians 15:19-26 (Colossians 3:1-4)
O Lord, by the grace of Christ,
Help us to make the Kingdom
Of Heaven come today
In how we care for one another.
Make us alive in Christ
And by the Love of Christ
Help us to repair a broken world
Where death is destroyed, forever.
Set our minds on heaven above and
Let our spirits rise to love creation
As Christ has Risen,
where we may learn
That we belong to not only to Him
But to one and other. Let no
earthly passion
Rule our desire, to love as God has loved,
Giving us his only begotten Son.
