Still playing around with Over Clocking the FSB, AGP and Video. The video is set to 382 MHz Core and 1.08 GHz memory.
I got a 21" Diamond Pro 91TXM off eBay for ~$140 delivered; hope it doesn't crap out like my 20" Cornerstone did! It's doing some strange things, maybe it's normal for a Trinitron type tube to kinda go blurg from time to time.....:)

"Smokin'" (at the time... hehehehe) April 2001 machine @ ~$1300;
AMD Athlon "Thunderbird" socket A CPU @1.197 GHz
Now at 1.35 GHz
Abit KT7A Motherboard @ 9 * 133MHz (1.197 GHz)
Now at 10 * (133+2) (1.350 GHz)
512M Micron Memory, 256M * 2 @ 133MHz
Now @ 135 MHz
New vid card: Chaintech GeForce4 ti 4200 4x 64 Meg ($105 delivered) with Nvidia 44.03 drivers.
Doesn't run Motorhead (old game) normally: picture is great, but no "text" stuff like speed, position, etc, but the game runs fine otherwise; good full screen driving pic, nothing else shows; it does with the Radeon, but not this one :)
OLD ONE:
ATI Radeon 32M DDR O/C @ 183MHz, Beta 7153 (semi-frequently upgraded) drivers w/Radeon Tweaker 1.1.9 or similar: Was at 186 MHz with Beta 9021 drivers and 1.1.9.6 Radeon Tweaker
Cornerstone 20/77 20" Monitor
30G Western Digital ATA 100 Hard Drive (VIA 2.1.44 drivers)
NEW:
Using the VIA_Hyperion 4 IN 1_V446vp6 drivers; finally new VIA drivers don't act oddly with the HD; installed the Hyperion drivers in the hope that the newest AGP drivers would help with the new card; with some AGP drivers, DAOC will crash quickly

Quite a long way from the ~$1500 I spent on my first "PC"; a 486/SX-33 w/4Meg that replaced my C= 64 in ~1993
That C= 64 system (computer, drive, monitor) that I spent $300 on was a great deal back then; but when the 486s hit sub-$1500 levels, it was time to move on.
Still, the ~$1200 for the 486? Sure.
486SX-33, 4M 30 pin RAM, 240M WD HD, Diamond Speedstar 1M VESA vid, 15" Aamazing monitor, no sound, no modem, no CD-ROM, AT case, 2B serial mouse, AT Keyboard
Okay, so I added a 14.4K modem, a soundcard/cd combo and another 4 meg of RAM for a total cost of around $400 in the next year or so (~1994ish) after that.
But at least I didn't spend $3000 on a 386 that wasn't all that much better than the C= 64.
But my TI-99/4A from the mid-eighties.... The one I replaced with the Commodore. That TI ruled. Well, in '85ish or so it did.
Not much third party software, slow unless the software was in assembly, 90K floppy..... But other than that, at the time.....
Damn. We do live in interesting times.
