1. Good thing those terrorists couldn't get guns onto those planes. Guess our anti-gun laws are helping so much.

2. Wow, that was such a good thing those kids in Colorado didn't have access to fully fueled aircraft.

3. Those that ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

4. I guess since every single way to protect us is the same as any other single way, we shouldn't worry about people with nuclear weapons (missile shield) as long as we can fight non-nuclear terrorism (knives).

5. Making people inconvenienced in flying isn't a big deal. After all, we needed to increase airport security anyway. Sure, we should have been intelligent enough before to realize we were under a false sense of security, but it's okay now that we've instituted the measures we should have before; when it's too late to do anything about it.

6. The best defense is a good offense.

7. We scream about how A should have done B. Hindsight is always 10/10 isn't it? Where was I when we were complaining, oh, I don't know.

8. Ben Franklin said it; "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

9. Realism is a bitch.

    a. Congratulated for doing the most stressful job anywhere, with their lives in frequent danger.

    b. Hated, as a bunch of mostly corrupt fascists.

    c. Pitied, with their high death and stress and suicide rates.

    d. Considered as people, subject to the same greatness and the same lows as the rest of us.

    e. Ignored as coffee drinking donut eaters that get paid our tax dollars to ride around doing nothing.

    f. Thought of as a needed part of our society, bringing law and order where there is none; a calming force valuable just for their being around.

    g. Taken as a way to stop crime.

    h. Taken as a way to catch law-breakers after the fact.
