William may have been married first to a Rhoda Simmons
August 20, 1793.
On November 13, 1814 William and his brother Mark enlisted in Captain Elijah Haynie's 3rd West
Tennessee Militia Infantry in Smith County, commanded by Col. James Raulston. The regiment was mustered in at Camp Haynes and served in General William Carroll's division. Carroll's Militia took part in the night battles of December 23, and 28, 1814.
It is not know whether William took part in the Battle of New Orleans. William died of disease in New Orleans on February 13, 1815.
Mary Woodcock was known as Polly. She
married Nathan Dillon in 1816 in Smith County, Tennessee.
Elizabeth Woodcock was also known as
Betsey and was probably Henry's daughter-in-law, the widow of his son
William. She was unmarried in 1818
