Chapter History
While George Washington was still President in
1791, this lovely land welcomed the Padres of early California to establish
the twelfth mission, the Mission of the Holy Cross or Santa Cruz. It is
in their honor that we named our chapter when we organized this chapter
in1916. We have been a viable organization in our community offering our
services in all patriotic endeavors and memorial services, and giving recognition
to outstanding members of our community both past and present. Our Santa
Cruz County has been designated as part of the Monterey Bay National Marine
Sanctuary, the largest in the United States. This ensures us of environmental
protection and the maintaining of an area that will be unspoiled and unpolluted.
