Trolley Loop - Hanging Wire
A cold overcast February day is not the type of day
that I would choose to hang overhead wire. But some
times you do not get to choose when you want to do the
work. You have to do it when you have a crew that is
ready to do the work. Fortunatly we did not get enough
snow to put the old U.P. snow thrower to work but it
appears to be ready if called upon.

A lot of the overhead work has already been completed
at this point. The trolley wire is all that is left to
hang. After that some final adjustments and it will be
ready for operation.

 |
When you have a crew ready to work you had better have
the tools at hand. This day we had two bucket trucks
in use. It still took us two days to finish most of
the work.
|
Working up in the bucket part of you is protected
from any wind that may come along. The rest of you is
up in the air and exposed to the elements. It is a
very confined space that you have to share with wire
hangers and tools.

One of the things that you have to mindful of is to
keep the wires from getting tangled. Getting the
right tension is also very important. The pull-back
wires were not completely tightened. This will come
when the final adjustments are made.
