| Similar to the CTA
6000 series car, these double-ended cars were assembled from
recycled PCC parts. These cars were created to be one-man
cars. Door controls were designed to allow the operator to open any
single set of doors. Originally equipped with trolley poles they
were removed in 1973 when the Evanston line was converted to 3rd
rail operation.
This car, along with several others of the
1-50 series, have been preserved at various museums.
