Cindy Scarberry's country music career began in 1988 when she and her oldest sister began turning heads
as "The Roady Sisters" in local contests and performing at Grant Leftwich's Opry which was called "The Oklahoma Opry" at that time. Cindy was asked to join
the house band as a background vocalist in 1989. It was there that she met
her husband, the lead guitar player, Terry Scarberry. Through the years,
Terry became Band Leader and Cindy was named Talent Coordinator in charge of public relations, radio & television interviews, booking talent and
coordinating shows. In 1997, she was inducted into the Oklahoma Opry Hall of Fame and recognized by the State of Oklahoma for her contributions to entertainment and the Oklahoma State Department of Tourism.
The Scarberry's performed at the Opry every Saturday night until the
year 2000. They both continue to support the Opry as charter members of Grant Leftwich's new
Oklahoma Centennial Rodeo Opry located in Stockyards, OKC where Cindy has recently been named Program Director. Cindy has performed for many public and private events in various cities and states including Las Vegas, Nashville, Texas, Kansas, Arkansas and all across the great state of Oklahoma. She has had the opportunity to open for Kitty Wells, Sammi Smith, Aaron Tippin, and Ricky Skaggs. Cindy has sung background vocals for country music artists Wanda Jackson, Jim Ed Brown, Leroy Van Dyke, Helen Cornelius, Katrina Elam, Bryan White, and Jodi Miller. She has also had the priviledge of singing with stars such as Byron Berline and Jody Nix. In April of 2005, she was asked to sing her original song, "What I Love" as well as background vocals for the Oklahoma "Memorial Thank You Concert" at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City with Vince Gill, Toby Keith, Ty England, Katrina Elam, Joe Diffie, Byron Berline and Jimmy Webb. Cindy has also been part of the Oklahoma "A Team" used in studio session work for over ten years. As a professional studio vocalist, Cindy continues to stay busy singing demos and background vocals as well as producing local artists' vocal recording sessions. After the death of her father in 1993, Cindy began to focus on her songwriting skills as part of her healing process. Since then, she has developed into a powerful songwriter who is frequently asked by artists for material. Her song catalogue and performance style include a wide range of material from traditional to contemporary sounds of country and gospel music.
