Martha’s Task
The
name “Martha’s Task” stems from the well known Biblical
story found in the Gospel of Luke about two
sisters named Mary
and Martha. Martha is the steadfast, devoted
woman who is known
for her work and many tasks. Martha’s Task is
an emergency assistance

for women in poverty situations. We are
committed to providing
a supportive program through sewing

About
wonderful gift shared through our history of how our
parish has
helped make Christian values the foundation of
how these values continue shaping the
foundation of our community.
Any
parish that is 100 years old has stories about its congregation,
organizations or church development which are interesting,
and
several individuals eagerly share their
reflections of the early days
of our parish. Their story is one of faith
and Christian love that has
helped
may think that certain liturgical committees
and church groups are
new Vatican II innovations, but many of these
committees existed
decades before that Council was convened, because
our priests understood
their value, and our parishioners were willing
to be involved.
St.
John Church of Bartlesville has been of value to the city since
its earliest development. Our Christian faith
has contributed to
community charitable works, business development,
and education
of our youth. We have strengthened our
expressions of general morality
with Catholic faith that has been supported by
liturgical practices
and continued adult religious education. We
can be proud of
always being open to inter-denominational
activities where we have
been able to relate the distinct beliefs of our
religion and share our
love of Jesus Christ.
