What specific behavior(s) has this person demonstrated in support of a personal commitment to win, execute, and team (include a description of the positive effect(s) on you, others, customers, quantity, quality, cost, time, etc.)
- James is a great team player! James is knowledgeable about his job and is able to offer recommendations on how things should be done on the web pages. He is also efficient and timely in his updates and additions. James has a can-do attitude and is a pleasure with which to work. James' work has had positive effects on our customers (our partners) because of his organization of the information on the web as well as his timely updates. He always does quality work. He operates with a closed loop process of offering me the ability to view changes that he has made and acknowledges completion of tasks. He is an asset to the team!
- Jim is an outstanding team player! He is very responsive and does an excellent job. He is helpful with recommendations and is open to change. His work with the Object Connection team was great as we made changes to processes and web pages as we brought the program from development to SDP. He is very professional and a great team player. I look forward to working with him in the future.
- James's dedicated work for the PWD Business Services Web contents management has been an extremely valuable services for the entire project team members for all the geographies. His performance quality level has been not only timely basis, but also very precise and consistent dedication during the entire performance period. WW SW Mall and HW Mall project team members are greatly appreciate and thanks for James' high quality level of services and his great team support spirit. Job well done!
- Jim consistently demonstrated a high degree of responsiveness to a wide variety of support requests. He demonstrated his vast array of skills to meet his commitments. Jim willingly shares his recommendations and the reasoning behind them to provide understanding. He communicates effectively, willingly sharing information and his talents.
- James is fabulous! He makes his time available to the teams when convenient for the team and is always (even when on vacation!) available as his input is critical when considering the re-design of web pages and enabling of new activity/offerings on the PWD website....James was a key player and instrumental in enabling the Canadian ILS discount offering, the Canadian Hardware Mall web restructuring and new Canadian PSG/PWD offering. His responsiveness and follow-up activity helped reach all targetted launch dates. Excellent work, keep doing what you are doing! and THANK YOU JAMES!
- James is the best!! James is a real team player in addition to being an expert in his area of web page development. I have worked with James on many projects in 1999 and he always delivers on time. He is responsive and thorough in this follow-up. When James is on a team, you can bet that the job will be done professionally, on time and complete.
- James has done a great job in evaluating and promoting the web externalization process. Specifically, James discusses the infrastructure and implementation of the web process to his team members and others to better serve all users and then initiates any needed changes after taking a consensus and formulating a plan of action. In addition, James does a great job promoting new ideas without being tied down within the process. Specifically, when James was asked to modify the sample Java source code web pages with prerequisite JDK levels, James immediately asked a technical support person to disseminate which code required a particular JDK to properly run and was able to promote this information within days. This type of interaction demonstrates James ability to execute and team within his department resulting in a win environment for our customers.
- James has been very responsive to all requests from me in a piece of work. Any questions were answered quickly. Any requests dealt with very willingly. This is the kind of responsiveness we need more of in IBM.
- During 1Q99, I worked with Jim and Dan Gillihan on the development of an online Object Connection membership application and renewal process. Since Object Connection was not part of SDM at the time, our team did not know much about the entitlements process. Jim was very patient and generous in explaining how the existing process worked and provided excellent suggestions for how our processes should be implemented within SDM. Starting in 2Q99, I joined SDM and was delighted to find that Jim was the Webmaster responsible for Network Computing with OS/2, along with many other things. Any change that I asked Jim to make to the OS/2 web pages was accomplished in just a few hours, and Jim always notified me when the changes were made. (I'm not sure that Jim actually sleeps at night.) Jim is excellent at both execution and communication.
- Jim demonstrates his ability to work with the team and make appropriate updates to the Web pages by ensuring that these updates are meaningful from a developer's perspective. Jim is very thorough and takes input from all of the team members so that the information that gets posted on the Web pages is the right information for developers and is what we what our customers to see from an external IBM perspective. Jim sticks to his decisions and when forced to do something he feels is not good for the developers, he pursues feedback from others to come to agreement on what is best for the developer, PWD and IBM.
Development and continuous improvement are important to each of us. State at least one suggestion for the improvement of this person's behavior. If this behavior related to win, execute and team changed, what would be the positive effect?
- No suggestions for improvements at this time.
- I can't think of an improvement for Jim at this time.
- Nothing particular at this point.
- No suggestions at this time.
- At this time I cannot comment on development/improvement opportunities for James as I do not know how an expert web-master's skills such as James' can improve except to restate that he should keep doing what he is doing!
- In my opinion, James is at the top of his game.
- James has done an outstanding job in improving the entire web externalization process. I would recommend that James be provided an opportunity to continue his pursuit of streamlining processes and interacting with users. James is committed to excellence and we should allow him the opportunity to continue improving the entire web externalization process.
- I have never met James, and he has only helped me with one short piece of project work which was executed quickly and efficiently so this section is almost impossible to assess.
- I have no improvements to recommend.
- I admire Jim's perseverance to do the right thing for developers and post meaningful, quality information on the Web pages. He is doing a great job and needs to continue to get consensus and feedback from the team when given a direction to post information that is not meaningful information. I think that Jim has been treated unfairly with respect to situations that occurred this year with the Web page updates. One suggestion for Jim is to be a little more subtle when writing e-mail and sticking to the facts rather than making things personal. Keeping the "he said she said" dialogue out of e-mail notes will help others to focus on what we are all trying to do, which is present the most positive picture to developers on the external Web pages so that they buy-in to PWD and use the information on our pages.
