Cappelli's and the Trotta's came from Sant' Angelo a
Fasanella, a small village in the province of Salerno.
They immigrated to Brooklyn, New York, in the early
1900's. It was common for the Sant; Angelese to claim to
be Neapolitan. This was done for simplicity, at a time
when our ancestors were growing up in a Brooklyn
neighborhood occupied almost exclusively by Italians of
Sicilian descent. The dialect spoken in Sant' Angelo is
Neapolitan, and Naples is the closest big city.
