The Warrior I
In the interstice of moment
The Warrior is alert
Prepared to act
Despite all that would root him motionless
Training continuously to act wisely and well
The Warrior seeks the center of being
From which all action springs
The well of will outpouring into possibility
Yes, the Warrior could swing a sword of severing
Hard against the flesh of enemy
But the Warrior slays as easily with a smile
Or the seething carress of sex
Or the soft soothe of voice
Or the banter of diversion
Or the lilt of song
Or the weave and bite of word
Or the parent touch of authority
Or, indeed, the each and every of the Warrior’s kit of trained, conscious tools of self-expression
As with the tools of explicit violence
