Twenty years!
An endless round of creation and destruction.
It's strange what remains:
     The glass shop,
     The dart shop,
     The fireplace shop,
     The porn shop.
I was sad, though I had heard before,
Either/Or is gone
Killed by Borders, Star and Amazon, I suppose.
Replaced by three chain stores
Though the sign on of them carried a bit of the spirit:
"No shirt, no shoes - BETTER SERVICE."
Joggers, cyclists, skaters and pacers still pass each other on the Strand.
Is the pier being destroyed?
The ocean abides it all
Slowly carrying the beach away and bringing more beach here.
