Dancing Deva Dasi
Wild child
Golden-haired goldenrod
Smiling pink and perfect
I danced ecstatic
To a gospel Godspell
Twelve and healing
Rejoicing in the gift I’d gained
By going through that pain
But my parents did not cherish
That dervish dancing
Nor would they dance with me
It would be nine years
Before I found the joy of dancing again
My Deva Dasi danced
My offering
Swirling with that half-forgotten joy
And I could give that cherishing
And dance with her, with me
I asked her how
I could meet my need
For the playing of my games
She told me to
Ask
and
Play the games that others like
She left a new game for me
At a game-store Saturday
And now my wife wants to play it
Even more than I do
Amazing
Magic
