Mom
Mom didn't bake much,
But, ah, her M&M cookies.
She'd only make them
For bake-sales and potlucks,
And I'd get to clean the
Bowl of cookie dough
And stray M&M's.
Maybe I should resent
That she'd never bake
Cookies just for me,
But I suspect that she
Volunteered for more
Bake-sales than she really had to,
And, certainly, there were
Always more M&M's left
In the bowl than would
Happen by chance.
