My Funds Installation Instructions for Windows 95/98
These instructions are intended for Windows 95/98 only.
Return to My Funds
download page if you have a different operating system. Also
follow these instructions if you have already installed My Funds,
but are experiencing problems. Feel free to contact the author of

if you have any questions.
- If you already have My Funds installed then go to Step 2.
If you do not already have My Funds installed, then
Click Here To Download My Funds Setup.
After downloaded, go to Windows Explorer and double-click
the mfssetup.exe file you downloaded to begin
installation.
- Try running My Funds by selecting it from the Start -
Programs - My Funds menu. If you are able to run without
error messages, then you have all the needed files and
there is no need to proceed with the remaining steps. If
you are not able to run the program without error
messages, then follow the remaining steps below to obtain
the additional needed files.
- Download the DCOM Checker:
Click Here To Download DCOM Checker.
- In Windows Explorer, run the DCOM Checker by
double-clicking the dcomchk.exe file you downloaded. If
the message says "DCOM is enabled", then click
Quit to exit the program and go to Step 8. If the message
says "DCOM is not enabled", then click Quit to
exit the program and go to Step 5.
- Download the DCOM installation file by selecting the
appropriate link below based on your operating system:
(DCOM is Microsoft's Distributed Component Object Model.)
For Windows 95 only, download DCOM for Windows 95 from
http://download.microsoft.com/msdownload/dcom/95/x86/en/dcom95.exe
For Windows 98 only, download DCOM for Windows 98 from
http://download.microsoft.com/msdownload/dcom/98/x86/en/dcom98.exe
- This step, DCOM Installation, should be performed
only if the DCOM Checker message said "DCOM is not
enabled" per Step 4.
In Windows Explorer, double-click the DCOM installation
file you downloaded (dcom95.exe for Windows 95 or
dcom98.exe for Windows 98) to begin the DCOM
installation.
- Restart your computer.
- Download the MDAC 2.5 installation file from
http://www.microsoft.com/data/download_250rtm.htm.
(MDAC is Microsoft's Data Access Components.)
- In Windows Explorer, double-click the mdac_typ.exe file
you downloaded to begin the MDAC installation.
- Restart your computer, then try running My Funds again.
You should now have all the needed files.
