 | Our Pugs
A Pug, Multum in Parvo is their motto meaning a lot of dog in a small package.
Gipper our first sure does live up to that motto.
We decided to get a dog a year after we purchased our own place.
I had wanted a puppy for so long and finally got my wish.
We first started thinking about a pug after we saw a pug puppy on the TV show "Friends".
After doing some research on the breed we decided it was the breed for us, a dog that
didn't need a lot of excersise or room, we lived in a condo. I found a breeder thanks to the internet
and we drove up to just "look" at the litter that was just born, all along knowing that we
wouldn't be just looking. Gipper came to live with us 6 weeks later and he was the sweetest, cutest little puppy ever.
He opened up a whole new world for me. I started reading newgroups and message boards about pugs on the internet
to help me with my puppy training(I was a novice for sure). I have developed several wonderful friendships though
the internet with people who shared in my newfound interest and joy, my pug. As the months went by I realized I had more then
just a dog. Pugs are a wonderful breed and I soon found out you can not just have one.
Through my friends on the internet I started hearing about pug rescue. I wanted another pug but Gipper was not cheap, and
Andrew wasn't too thrilled with the idea of another. You see Gipper is far from a lazy pug that we thought we were getting.
I thought maybe getting another, older pug would give Gipper some company and help him to settle down. A pug group in our area
was desperatley looking for a foster home for a pug close to my house. I was asked to foster and after,
much begging Andrew finally said I could. Well when I first saw Bugsy I thought he was the ugliest pug I had ever seen but he soon
worked his charm on me and then on Andrew and we both knew that he had found his forever home.
I love both my pugs so very much. They are such great company for me and are part of the family.
Maybe someday I will have three but for now I am content with my two boys and can't imagine ever
being pugless again!
