Overview

I have found lots of info on getting started with medium to large sized single rotor R/C helicopters and flying them outdoors.

Here are a couple of good examples:

However, I have not found much information on leaning to fly smaller micro helicopters like the E-Flite mCX, mSR or HeliMax/Walkera helicopters in smaller, indoor spaces. With this in mind, I've tried to assemble a list of hovering maneuvers (most come from competitions like F3C) that can be flown in confined spaces but offer a great opportunity to learn and practice orientation and coordination which can translate to larger more capable machines.

Many of the maneuvers include measurements from full size competition, feel free to scale them appropriately for your helicopter and available space.

Start out with one of the sites listed above to get the hang of hovering and basic flight. Once the training gear is off and you can fly around a bit without crashing too often, give some of these a try!
