Highway 25 is the main thoroughfare from Hollister to Highway 101, and is travelled by thousands daily. This two lane road has been the scene of numerous accidents, many of which have resulted in deaths, in the past few years.
Suggestions as to what to do about it elicit heated debates. Many argue that it is the drivers who are at fault. Many argue in return that the road is horribly out of date with regards to the traffic it carries. Solutions range from doing nothing all the way to widening the road to four lanes. While perhaps one day the road will be widened to accomodate the traffic on it, getting to that point has not been easy. Through the valiant efforts of many individuals the road has seen significant improvements in the past few years, but much work still needs to be done.
