Biography of: Nathan B. Trude.
10. Nathan B.3 Trude, (John Albert2, John1), born 28 Aug 1818 Saratoga County, New York; died 01 May 1905 Tryonville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania. He married, 1 May 1844 in Gerry, Chautauqua County, New York, Polly M. OSTRANDER, born 17 Jul 1821, died 8 Jan 1893. She was the daughter of David OSTRANDER (born 1 Oct 1781, died 24 Feb 1860) and Mary COOPER (born 27 Jan 1786, died 9 Oct 1849). Nathan and Polly's marriage announcement was published in the Fredonia Censor and found at the genealogy library in Fredonia New York. They were listed in the 1850 census living close to both families in Gerry, New York. The 1855 state census showed them still living in Gerry and with a family of three children. They moved to Tryonville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania between 1857 and 1860 and appeared in the Pennsylvania census with four children, all born in New York. Nathan was a carpenter and built his home situated on 50 acres in the town of Tryonville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, where both he and Polly lived out their lives. Nathan and Polly are both buried at Sunny Hill Cemetery, Centerville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania. Polly died 12 years before Nathan. Control of their property in Tryonville was transferred to their youngest daughter Mary at the time of Polly's death in 1893--recorded at the Orphans' Court of Crawford County, Meadville, Pennsylvania. Pollys Will stated that the property was to be sold and the proceeds used for support and maintenance of Nathan B. Trude (then 75), husband of the decedent. However, Nathan chose to distribute the money from the sale to his four children and went to live with his youngest daughter Mary and her husband Lewis Streeter. The proceeds for distribution were $104.60. Dwight W. Trude asked that his share be turned over to his sister Mary. So, Orville Trude and Delight Trude-Doughtery received $26.15 each and Mary Trude-Streeter received $52.30. The house was then purchased by Mary & Lewis Streeter who lived out their lives there. It was inherited by their son and was still in good condition in 1994. Nathan was nearly 87 years old when he died.
