38. Oscar Mortimer3 TRUDE, (Nathan Baker2, John1), born 16 Aug 1821 Northumberland, Saratoga County, New York; died 1 Jul 1908 Springfield, Michigan. He was married 24 Dec 1854, to Mary Emily HOSFORD, born 7 Dec 1837, in New York, daughter of William HOSFORD and of Emily BERRY. Oscar worked for a time as a boatman on the Erie Canal. Later, he went to Chicago and settled as a farmer in Bangor, Michigan. In 1862 he returned to New York and lived at Ervin, Steuben County until 1865. He returned to Michigan and lived at Casco Township, Allegan County Michigan. The 1880 census shows him as a farmer in Casey Township, Allegan County, Michigan. In 1884 he moved to Springfield, Michigan where he operated a sawmill.
