I
Jursch Juaggernaut continues!
Sandwiching a pair of NET 63s around a couple of DQs, Charlie lived the
dream over the last couple of club outings.
Even tinkering with the tee boxes by the tournament diector could not
slow down THE MAN. White tees, Blue
tees, Black tees, no problem for our own Walter Mittey. Vowing this can not
continue, the club’s rules committee convened in executive, closed door session
to plot new strategy.

Upcoming Tournaments
Our
next outing is Lone Tree Antioch which will be a team match with our
compatriots from the East Bay Bell club. Tom Baker will be working with Ed Mori
to coordinate team matches since we will have more players than the East Bay
group.
We
will have our regular low net format for all of the SF players as well as
the team match. For the team match we will play a 4-ball format (2 player
best ball) for as many teams as we can match with East Bay. Please
indicate on your response if you do NOT want to play in team match.
Otherwise, Tom will try to create compatible teams. Scoring will be 2-2-2;
2 points for front, back and 18. The club with the highest total will
claim the $7.00 per player merchandise credit from the pro shop. No card
match in case of a tie.
San
Francisco's Best Kept Secret
Lone Tree golf course, located about an
hour east of San Francisco, is the perfect golf course for all skill
levels. The huge, tree lined fairways and graciously placed bunkers make
this course a one of kind. Minimal doglegs and zero water hazards provide
the ideal play for the long ball hitters. This classic rolling hill
design provides excellent definition between the
fairways and rough. This par-72
course offers four sets of tees to challenge your skills.

President’s Corner
Steve Spiva
Presidents Message For those of you who were at the Reno Weekend and those who missed it. We had a great time, the weather was considerably cooler than last year and we got to play a new course. For those who missed the event you should really make sure you get Arrow Creek on your plans for next year. There was lots of chatter amongst the crew about the course. It was in fabulous shape with the green targets in the middle of the desert. You might even describe them as unseen targets in some cases. I feel the club was divided on this course, you either hated it or loved it, no grey area. Let's just say it was tough on the mind. Wolf Run and Lakeridge were much easier to manage, both were in good shape. Wolf Run has even put grass on the driving range and added some additional bail out areas on the course. Other than some health issues for Woody and a guest who should have been DQ'd each day our foursomehad a great time. The Island Green at Lakeridge has not changed but I did manage to miss the shack this year. Mr. Baker did his normal outstanding job of setting up the tournaments. His strategy of playing the Blue Tee's somewhat made a difference but overall seemed to even theplaying field. I would also like to thank Tom for making the arrangements at the Peppermill, the rooms and the food were outstanding. We were treated very well there. I got to be a VIP for 2 days at least. The rates were very generous as were some of our meals. Thanks Tom, keep losing that money OK.We had a strong tournament which might be due to the point that we actually have this repeated on the schedule. Thanks to those who came, it was great to see John Brown and Stumpy who came from long distance. It would be great to see more of you next year at this event. See you all in August and at the State Telco. Who are those two guys on the number 1 team for the Telco???
Membership
Corner
The bell club
currently has 56 active members for the 2007 season. All members are invited to participate in the
2007 State Telco Tournament. State Telco
qualifying will be the low six differentials from the ten tournaments between
Poppy Hills (3/23) and Lakeridge (7/21).
Tom Baker is
working on the possibility of having two joint tournaments with the East Bay
Bell Golf Club to increase interest and to build some camaraderie. Look
for details in future newletters.
