Letter from the Editor –

When the music stopped I found myself without a chair to sit on.  “AHA!” exclaimed outgoing President and now tournament director Steve, “We have our new newsletter editor!”  As I frantically tried to yank the chair out from under Brian Philpot, I was instead swept away on the shoulders of past officers and plopped down in front of my computer.  “Write!” they commanded, so here I am.  Advice to those possibly caught up in this selection process next year.  When the music stops, trip someone.

 

So now you are stuck with me and I warn you, my caustic sense of humor and questionable moral convictions may get the better of me.  I am not above recounting with suitable embellishment, any and all foibles that I, or any of my vast network of spies observes out on the course.  By the way, I am always in need of new spies, so to apply all you need is a great story, true or not about someone in the club.  Pictures to corroborate, while not necessary and frankly may get in the way of your version of the story, are always welcome and will be included so long as I can blame you when the lawsuits start to fly.   Contributions may be submitted to me at Yakmeister@aol.com.   I would also like to invite any budding writers out there to contribute guest editorials, jokes, rumors, innuendo or cash bribes to me to start rumors about the member

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

of your choice.  Ahh, the power of the press, it’s intoxicating.

 

I would also like to apologize for the tardiness of getting the newsletter back up and running.  I have no excuse other than the rather large pile of Jack Daniels bottles accumulating in the garage right now, but as many of you are sure to point out, that never slowed down Hunter S. Thompson or Ernest Hemmingway, but then, what the hell did they know about golf…

The remaining schedule for 2009 is below.  Plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy the game, weather, scenery, and camaraderie that makes golf the true sport of kings.  Steve Spiva has made it easier than ever to attend.  He accepts e-mails, phone calls, voice mails, completed sign up forms mailed directly to his house or even an in person chat.  Please don’t forget that  Mr. Fosdick has added a link on the Web Page, http://pages.sbcglobal.net/trfosdick/Signups.htm. for current signup status.  We will try to update this list on a weekly basis up to close date.  Email and verbal commitments are OK, but the printed signup form with check is better, http://pages.sbcglobal.net/trfosdick/1st%20Qtr%20Apps%202007.htm.
