Regulation describes the process of re-adjusting the action or mechanical portion of the piano. This becomes necessary due to the settling and packing of the felt that occurs from use and by changes in humidity which affect both the wooden parts and felt all of which changes the original dimensions and relationships of the moving parts that were set by the factory. A vital process in maintaining the playability of the instrument.Quality regulation is time consuming and expensive.
