BCIS I ("Business Computer Information Systems") is a computer application
course in the Career and Technology Department at Harlingen High School.
In this course students will learn word processing, spreadsheet, database,
telecommunication, desktop publishing, and automated presentation skills
using the Microsoft Office 2000 Professional Package. All lessons taught
meet or exceed the course TEKS established by TEA.
Successful completion
of this course fulfills the student's technology credit for graduation.
Students who participate in this and other Career and Techology classes,
as well as maintaining a class standing in the top 25%, can apply for
membership in the National
Vocational Techinical Honor Society (NVTHS).
