My Family Tree

This page will be linked to your home page using one of the buttons you designed in that assignment.

A family tree is a visual diagram of the generations in a family.  Few, if any of us, just appeared from thin air, therefore, most of us have generations that have preceded us.

Make note of the time line and dues dates ~ they must be adhered to for full credit potential


Preparation for this assignment includes:
  1. Gather pictures (each) of
    1. your parents
    2. your grandparents on your father's and your mother's side
  2. Get the first and last names and birthdates of each of the family members listed above.  If some have passed away, you might also get the date of their death.
  3. Gather information about these people for their biography.  The information can include:
    1. Great accomplishments in life
    2. The first to _?_ in the family, the neighborhood, etc.
    3. Profession or career
    4. Important thing(s) he/she taught you
    5. Strife or hardship they overcame
    6. Anything else you think is noteworthy


Following are the requirements for this page:
  1. Create/write the page in HotDog or Notepad.
  2. Include a "tree" page:
    1. The first page will be the page directly linked to from your home page and must include a link to return to the home page
    2. The first page will include a graphic of your family tree, including all of the branches (relatives) you intend to include.  Use PhotoImpact or Corel and clipart to create a tree with the pictures pasted into the tree.
    3. Include an image map OR a table of links to the people in the tree
  3. Include a biography page for each family grouping in the tree collage
    1. Include the biographical information you found in your preparation
    2. Appropriately place an image/picture of the family members
    3. Provide a link back to the main "Tree" page
  4. Save the page as mytree.htm.
  5. Print the HTML from Notepad on the classroom printer (CC105 LaserJet) and the first page only from the Web browser on the 4550 Color Laser.
  6. Activate the link on your homepage to this new page.
Once the page is graded and, if necessary, corrected, we will FTP the page to the Web server.
