Worship in the Sanctuary (classic)

9:00am in the Sanctuary
"Reverently Centered on the Presence of God"

For years this service has served as the worship anchor of the congregation. It is characterized by a worshipful reverence, which accents our awe before the mystery of God. In the elegant beauty of the sanctuary, surrounded by the symbols of the faith, sharing in the tradition of the church throughout the ages, we come to know the sovereign God who reigns over and moves in all history.

A powerful worship force in this service is the presence of our church musicians. The congregation is inspired by the sounds of our pipe organ and the anthems offered by our many choirs. A time for singing favorite hymns is included.

Children are included in our worship by means of a special children's moment, and though children are encouraged to remain in the service, child care is available for children age 4 years through second grade following the children's moment. A nursery is always available, and Sunday School for all ages follows this service at 10:00 am.

Central to our Disciples' theology and tradition is the Lord's Supper. We celebrate it every Sunday and it is open to all baptized Christians.

Worship in the Chapel (informal)

11:10am in the Chapel
"Make a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord!"

This more contemporary emphasizes uplifting, heart-felt praise music and an interactive style of worship. Our music is very important to this service, and we include songs from many sources, including Christian music from around the world.

Our prayer concerns are shared as we offer thanks and request strength in a common prayer. This has become a meangingful time for many members.

The message is shared in a personal and relaxed style and attempts to relate the truths of our faith to the challenges of our lives and of our world.

The sharing of the Lord's Supper remains central to each service, and we come forward to rejoice in Christ's presence as we share the bread and wine.

This service is about one hour long, and there is always nursery available. You are invited to join us for a coffee fellowship in the library immediately following the service, and Sunday School classes for all ages are available at 10:00 am.
