Black-Bellied Whistling Duck

Field Marks: A large long-legged duck with a long neck.  This bird likes to perch in trees and especially on branches that overhang on ponds.  These were on a dead limb that is in a man-made pond.    Occurs in Southern Texas and southern Arizona.  These were at Sea World in San Antonio, Texas.  Adults are mainly chestnut, with gray on their face and throat.  Black in on the lower breast and belly.  The bill is a bright red and their legs a reddish-pink. 
Voice: Shrill whistle, that is repeated and while in flight.
Where found: A tropical species that breeds in s. Arizona and s. Texas and winters from s. Texas and Mexico south. 
Texas: I've seen these in McAllen, Sugar Land, San Antonio, Brazos Bend State Park, etc. 

Nest: Tree cavity or in marsh.  Eggs (12-16) whitish.
