Yellow-headed Blackbird

Field Marks: Male: A Robin-sized marsh blackbird with an orange-yellow head and breast; shows a conspicuous white wing patch in flight. Females are smaller and browner, with most of the yellow confined to the throat and chest; lower breast streaked with white. Very gregarious.
Voice: Note, a low kruck or kack. Song, low hoarse rasping notes that are produced with much effort.
Where found: Canada to Northwest Mexico. Winters southwest United States to Mexico.
Texas: Migrant from April to May and July - October through western three fourths of the State.
